Deer antler has been one of the most highly respected vitalizing tonics of Asia since the time of Confucius (551 B.C.) more than 2,000 years ago. Deer antler contains many organic compounds that are integral to the health of bone and tissue such as phospho- and glycolipids, collagen, and glycosaminoglycans. It also contains a growth factor (growth factor 1) which is an integral part of joints and skeletal tissues. Despite many requests for this product, Planetary Herbals did not develop it until we could guarantee a consistent high quality supply from a humane source. We were able to accomplish both. Planetary Herbals Full Spectrum Antler Velvet is a unique combination of elk and deer antler velvet, harvested in a humane manner in accordance with the national standards established by the Game Industry Board, the New Zealand Veterinary Association, and the Animal Welfare Commission of New Zealand. Harvesting of the antler velvet is done under the care of certified handlers or veterinarians so the animals are subjected to the minimum amount of stress. Most importantly, the deer are not killed as is done by many other antler suppliers.
